Known simply as the Torne (from the Dutch Torenberg, for “tower” or “pinnacle”), this small, low-elevation peak (942 feet) provides hikers with unusual views across the eastern Hudson Valley and northwest into the lands of the West Point Military Reservation. Most of the vertical rise in this hike is concentrated into a short, steep ascent from the base of the hill.
