I highly recommend the rustic walk-in sites - especially walk-in site 4. There is far more privacy than the regular campground and its cheaper. We brought our two-year-old, and we didn't have to worry about traffic or other campers wandering around. Of course, weekdays are going to be better than weekends, but that will be the case just about anywhere.
Big Woods turned out to be a great place for a winter hike. My expectations weren't very high going into the afternoon since I had never even heard of this spot before, but I was very impessed with this forested area. While we hiked the snow covered trails on foot, I would highly recommend these trails for cross country skiing.
