This hike offers a convincing sample of the Trap Hills’ charms in a bite-size loop. Energetic hikers looking for a few more miles can venture east on the NCT. Or you may want to sample a classic Trap Hills pastime—looking for new viewpoints. Typically the trail runs a stone’s throw “inland,” usually north, of the bluff’s edge. While walking the trail scan for openings in the forest canopy in the direction of the bluff’s rim and investigate.
