It takes a lot of effort to reach Rock Island, but the determination is worth it.

Great trails and camping.Beautiful views with lake Michigan on one side and Green Bay on the other. It takes 2 ferries to get to Rock Island State Park but it's well worth it.This year will be our 4 th time back and we can't wait. If you are planing on camping it's a good idea to bring a small cart or wagon to put your gear in.The sites are spread apart and are some distance from the dock. There is a light house on the Island that is open for free tours it's the oldest in WI. There is also a boathouse(that has some baord games and displays history about the island) There is also some old cemetaries to discover too.If you have a telescope bring it cause the skies are breathtaking on a clear night. So come and leave your cares at home and relax on the 912 acre island of paradise, you won't want to leave it's so peaceful.Rock Island State Park is a must see and do experience. You won't be disappointed.
