The scenic North Branch Oconto River is just steps away from this campground. North Branch of the Oconto twists, turns, and falls southward, pausing repeatedly to drop over granite rocks. In other places the river becomes blocked by fallen timber, forming dark hideaways for the trout that lurk in its waters. Bagley Rapids Campground is located in what many consider the most impressive stretch of this river. The ledge-type rapids crash and boil over a rocky rampart that provides symphonic music for campers who choose to pitch a tent nearby.
