Start on one mountain, then hike to another...pretty nice! Few people come to Rock Pile, so you’ll likely have the place to yourself. The trail starts at its high point, available. Bring map and compass to 1,306 feet on Little Grass Mountain, and follows this unmarked trail. There’s a steep and rugged half-mile grade off Little Grass that’ll make you huff and puff on your return. While puzzling over the intriguing circular pile of rocks that gave the mountain its name, you’ll hike miles and miles of ridges in this wilderness before descending into Cave Branch Hollow to soak your feet in a cooling stream.
