Taking recreational land to a new intellectual high, this park features a built-in library! The 100-acre lake vies with the library as the main attraction. The marina rents small boats, and Sippo Lake is a favorite stop for many migrating birds. Combining the Sippo Lake Trail out-and-back with the shorter Marina Trail loop gives you a good look at both sides of this Stark County property, as well as some gentle hills on the Marina loop to offer your legs a bit of a workout. Several rustic trails on the north side of the park are slightly less trafficked than the lakeside trail, so if you’re looking for more solitude, you can find it there. From the parking lot trailhead, follow the crushed limestone trail around the back of the library building, where you’ll find a wide wooden bridge ideally situated for watching the many birds that enjoy the lake. Continue northeast on the trail when you’re ready. You’ll soon lose sight of the lake, at least until you reach the Marina Trail.
