This northern portion of this national trail enters a county park to climb Wisconsin’s highest natural point. An observation tower there grants a 360-degree view of the horizon. While not part of the Ice Age Trail, this connects to that national scenic trail at the southern end. Timm’s Hill, at 1,951 feet above sea level, is the highest natural point in Wisconsin. The hill is the namesake of the Timm’s Hill National Scenic Trail, a 10.0-mile-long spur connecting to the Ice Age Trail. This hike follows the last 3.0 miles of that path, along roller coaster–like ski trails, past small scenic lakes, to the summit. Begin your walk where the Timm’s Hill National Scenic Trail crosses CR C, just west of the cemetery.

It's a class A-1 trail with bridges to cross streams, gravel in places, sod in others. Traveling thru meadows, marsh land, hardwood forest mixed with dense evergreen tree's passing over hills and skirting around lakes and ponds makes for a great hike. On nearby Hultman Lake is a real Emerald in the forest, Holiday Hills Camping is a great place to start or finish!
