Situated at the top of the state, Cruiser Lake Trail takes you over ridges and past beaver ponds, lakes, and several secluded hike-in camp spots. This magnificent, water-encircled hike crosses a section of the 75,000-acre, roadless Kabetogama Peninsula and goes by Cruiser Lake at its midpoint. The trail continues all the way to Rainy Lake at the Minnesota/Ontario border. To get to the trailhead, you’ll have to take a boat across Kabetogama Lake into Lost Bay. You’ll be floating on the historic water highway that transported the French voyageurs great distances to deliver their goods for trade.
