Carver Park Reserve covers more than 3,000 acres, one-third of which are interconnecting lakes, marshes, and sloughs. Yet one of the most diverse parts of Carver is represented in the area around the Lowry Nature Center, located in the heart of the park. This nature center has the distinction of being the first public environmental education center of its kind in the state. Its trail system offers a prime example of mixed woodland/ marshland environment.
