There’s a lot of history along the Mississippi River, some of it big and bold, like Fort Snelling, and some barely noticeable beyond the bluff line. Such is the case with Crosby Farm.

A nice place to retreat from the city without having to go too far. I've only been to the Lake Independence part of the park, but its a great place to swim, barbeque, and has a great huge playground complete with ziplines. I worked at a summer camp that bordered the park for 7 years and the area is really nice with a variety of ecosystems (bog/marshes, wooded areas, etc.).
