The official trailhead for this trail is actually at the northern terminus at Lilydale. However, because of very limited parking, a rather unsafe road crossing, and the fact that the southern end is better developed in all those regards, I describe the hike leaving from a major trail juncture at the southern end of this particular section.

Fun forest to hike thru, It would have been better if I had checked known that it was hunting season. The Forest is closed to hunting, but shots could be heard all around. Will go back to see the fall colors in the forest and before hunting season. It had a nice lake too.
