A good hiking trail circling a plateau's upper edge, giving vistas of the Mississippi River valley to the east and a picturesque farm valley to the west. The unit has only 761 acres, but it covers a narrow and much-scalloped plateau that includes Hart Hill. The land was previously farmed by Leon Bronk; a loop called the Plowline Trail follows the edge of his former fields. Both hikers and mountain bikers use this multi-use trail, and in seemingly equal numbers. Hiking around the loop, you will pass by oak savannas, bluff prairies, and several overlooks—enough to keep you looking until the shadows close in on the valleys below. Special attractions: Overlooks on all sides of the plateau.
