A little known trail following the steep sides of a tucked away valley to the ruins of an old farm and overlooks of the valley. Most visitors come to Hay Creek to fly fish in the fine trout stream, or to ride horseback on the miles of equestrian trails. But within this 1,500-acre management unit are also some simple hiking paths for navigating up the easily erodible hills. While the unit does not have spectacular views, the trail does lead to a pleasant enough vista of the narrow Hay Creek valley and its small tributaries. Many hikers do double duty as they search for mushrooms or walnut trees.
