A quiet riverside park with overlooks above the Crow River and a sizable Bluestem prairie. Crow–Hassan Park Reserve sits nestled along the meandering Crow River. About a quarter of the park’s 2,600 acres are comprised of rolling prairie, transitional habitat that includes the riverside banks and the high, dry slopes of forest land. The park feels bigger than some of the other parks in the state, partly because of the surrounding metro area and partly because of its continuous acreage, uninterrupted by roads. The park is named both for the Crow River, a popular canoeing river that merges with the Mississippi a short 7 miles downstream, and for the township of Hassan.
