A beautiful hike from the agate beach at the mouth of Gooseberry River, along its shores, and to the popular waterfalls. Gooseberry Falls is one of the most popular attractions along the North Shore. Almost everyone traveling along Minnesota Highway 61 stops here to do a little exploring around the falls. This is a time-honored tradition, going all the way back to the 1670s when the falls first appeared on the maps of French explorers. Special attractions: The falls, the nature center, stunning views of Lake Superior, and an agate beach.

This park is beautiful in warmth of summer and even better in the deep recesses of winter when the crowds of fair weather outdoors people are inside huddled up. Hike, snowshoe and take in nature.
