This 100-acre nature center offers a mix of environments, ranging from meadows and marshes to mature forests and a pond. The arrival of birds and the carpet of wildflowers in early spring are spectacular and provide hours of enjoyment. Wildlife frequents the park in summer and fall. Autumn colors are stunning. The hiking trails are accessible during winter, allowing a look at complete lifecycles of this urban "wilderness." The park is managed as a preservation and education area complete with an interpretive center, classrooms, and exhibits. There are several wooden bridges and an observation tower overlooking the park's marshy areas. Love Creek Nature Center offers 5 miles of interconnected trails that are broken down into more than a dozen loops, ranging from 0.5 to 3 miles. The possible combinations of loops can stretch a short hike into an all–day affair. Combinations of loops will take hikers through open meadows, marshland, and mature forests, and along the flanks of Love Creek. Bridges allow dry foot crossings of the creek, and a boardwalk keeps feet dry in the marsh in the southwest corner of the park. Special attractions: Birds, wildflowers.
