This point-to-point trail offers a unique view of the most scenic point in the park, Lake of the Clouds. A spur trail about midway between Cloud Peak and Cuyahoga Peak divides the trail in half. Special attractions: Lake of the Clouds views; Carp Lake Mine; Cuyahoga Mine.

The Porcupine Mountains has to be one of America's finest state parks. Containing one of the largest virgin stands of hardwoods east of the Mississipi this area has a lot to offer. One should find the Escaprment trail well marked and not too busy at any time of the year. The trail can be snow shoed or skiied in the winter. As always in the UP expect to encounter a lot of mosquitoes in the summer.
