Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area, at only 190 acres, is one of the smallest units in the North Carolina State Parks system. Its rewards, however, are immeasurable for the natural beauty offered amid one of the state’s biggest urban areas—the Triangle region of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill.

Really enjoyed this trail. As an older couple it was a good work-out for us. Especially enjoyed the strip along the trail that borders the beautiful Eno River. Will definitely do it again.
