Onerous as the climb to the top might be, though, the payoff is one of the best views in the state. From the cleared knob, you have unobstructed panoramas of Three Top and Bluff mountains to the north, Mount Jefferson and the Blue Ridge to the east, Snake Mountain to the south, and the mountains of Tennessee to the west. It’s a view to savor. And you should, because the hike down is just as taxing as the trek up.
