Like Harper Creek Falls, the hike to Huntfish Falls is short at 0.7 mile, about half the distance to Harper. But it’s also steep. In the 0.7-mile descent from the trailhead to the falls, you lose 600 knee-popping vertical feet. Perhaps that’s why it’s less crowded. It is, however, just as enticing. This pool is cozier though, perhaps half the size of the pool beneath Harper Creek Falls, and tucked in on three sides by a tight collection of deciduous trees. The granite slab leading down to the water is ideally slanted for sunning and lazy entries on a steamy summer’s day into the cool water.
