Know someone who makes a sour pucker whenever you suggest a hike? Botanical gardens, through their splendiferous scenery, are great for fooling the recalcitrant into taking a hike. The Cape Fear Botanical Garden is an 85-acre preserve divided into two parts: cultivated and not. Start with the cultivated portion. Now, the beauty of the garden is that it doesn’t have one long trail with an interior loop or two. Rather, it has short connectors that lead to small loops.
