This hike begins at the north end of the 2.6 mile Lake Brandt Greenway off Strawberry Road. Hike south (the northbound Summerfield Rail-to-Trail project across the road leads 1.7 miles to NC Highway 150). The Lake Brandt trail also follows an old railbed. Within the first couple of hundred yards, you’ll notice one of the most impressive carpets of kudzu around. A third of a mile into the hike, a footbridge crosses Lake Brandt to deposit you in Bur-Mil Park, where you can run up to the office and get a free map.
