Understandably popular with area joggers, this paved, level out-and-back traces an important remnant of Fredericksburg’s commercial past. Wetland parcels en route, home to swans and herons, are a welcome counterbalance to the concrete underbelly of US 1.

This park offers many trails, for biking or hiking. I have biked from entrance to Yorktown waterfront several times. Hiking is flat, packed dirt/gravel. The main "bike trail" is 5.3 mile loop. It is the most used, by joggers, bikers and hikers. Side trails lead to other areas of park. There is also a 2.6 mile self guided nature trail.
