Waller Mill Park has enough amenities to rival a day-use state park. The park took a beating in 2003, and the 5-mile mountain-bike trail has yet to reopen. However, you can still choose from paddling, picnicking, and fishing for posthike relaxation.

If you are in the mood for a nice walk in the woods, this is a pretty good choice. Trails are wide, well marked and well maintained. Grade is gentle. Views of the creek and river are abundant. We got an up-close view of beaver damage to trees on this hike.
