The pastoral environs of Chippokes Plantation State Park are positively evocative. It’s easy to imagine Native Americans paddling a canoe through the lush wetlands where Chippokes Creek meets the James, or to imagine early settlers tending the nearby fields of corn and wheat.

A nice trail, though not marked particularly well. A beginners trail, though there are some steep hill that could cause some problems for the inexperienced hiker.
