This hilly loop hike circles through one of greater Nashville’s newer preserves—Smith Park, located on the Ravenswood Mansion grounds, now public domain. Leave the trailhead parking area and ascend a knob to a wintertime view. From there, backtrack to resume the loop, dropping to a creek. Turn north in a mix of fields and woods before making a steep climb back into hill country. Wind through rocky woods, and then make your way back to the trailhead.
