The A. B. Brooks Discovery Trail System is 3.5 miles of self-guided trails that wind through butterfly gardens and rich deciduous forests. Oglebay Park is a 1,650-acre resort near Wheeling. The park has a mansion museum, an environmental learning center, and a zoo. From the parking area, walk down the steps and turn left on the Habitat Discovery Trail, a short (0.3 mile) self-guided nature trail. After a short distance, the trail bends right and descends to the intersection with the Hardwood Ridge Trail. The Hardwood Ridge Trail is marked with green blazes and exits to the left. Special attractions: Both trail spurs lead to a small picturesque waterfall.
