This forested walk takes you to the tip of an isolated ridgetop jutting into the lake. It includes a side trip to a secluded cove on a short but unofficial trail. Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park, Kentucky’s second largest, opened in 1978, and the lodge (named for a deceased state park official) opened in 1997.
This hike follows an old roadbed that was around long before either. Along the way, you pass the remnants of one of the homesteads that years ago dotted these isolated hollows and ridgetops on the Kentucky-Tennessee border.
