Hurricane Campground is ideally located with good access to the Iron Mountain, Appalachian, and Highlands Horse Trails and in close proximity to Mount Rogers—Virginia’s highest point at 5,729 feet. Mount Rogers National Recreation Area has an abundance of campgrounds that attract many visitors. All of them are excellent campgrounds, but given a choice, follow Robert Frost’s lead—take a chance and pitch a tent at the campground less visited.
