A lovely little state campground set on the banks of Otter Creek. We played in the creek for hours with our 4 year old and found lots of animal diversity among its waters. Trout, crayfish, newts, frogs, toads, snakes, etc. Lots of exploring fun.
The campground is right on the Blue Ridge Pkway so you do get some roadway noise, but it was not too bad. No showers and no water/electric hookups. Campsites are pretty close together but we went during the week and had very few neighbors.
Otter Creek trail starts at the campground and was a pleasant hike along the creek's banks passing back and forth beneath the Blue Ridge Pkwy via beautiful stone tunnels beneath the bridges.
