The 581-acre Lake Robertson Recreation Area lies at the western edge of the Shenandoah Valley at the foot of North Mountain. Early American Indians called this ridge Endless Mountain, and that’s the image you’ll get while looking up at it from the dam along the Lake Trail. An even better vantage point, however, is from North Mountain itself. Take a ride up to the mountain crest for an incredible panorama across Lexington and Rockbridge to the Blue Ridge Mountains.
