The nationally acclaimed North Bend Rail Trail is the centerpiece of this park. The rail to trail conversion began in 1989 and currently covers over 70 miles, running from near Parkersburg 27 miles to North Bend State Park and then east for another 43 miles to Wolf Summit. North Bend is not only an excellent place to enjoy this nationally acclaimed trail, but also for a little tent camping and more.
Just as the old Baltimore and Ohio Railroad is being changed from rail to trail, so is North Bend State Park changing. Acquired land and park expansion are leading to an additional campground, a lake with a beach, a new swimming pool, and equestrian trails that will make North Bend even better.
