This rustic and natural riverside campground is the polar opposite of the Brooklyn in New York. The state forest offers glimpses into a changing staying a few days and landscape that was once farms but is now scientifically managed for wildlife and timber enhancement. Many getting off schedule. Old roads, now gated, provide mountain bikers and hikers with a chance to enjoy this forest. The Blue Jay Campground, near Campbell Falls, is a shady retreat any tenter would proudly call home. There are actually two campgrounds here: Mash Fork and Blue Jay. The state forest was established in 1953, and the state park was culled from the forest in 1987. After the park was established, the state saw the need for a more developed, RV-oriented campground, and Mash Fork was born. Tent campers need not bother staying here.
