The hike down and back up the Cave Falls Trail is brutal with a heavy pack on. If you have a lot of gear or if you are doing the Hazel Country overnight loop, be sure to stash your pack at the top of the Cave Falls Trail before you head down. The Falls are pretty but small and the "cave" is just a boulder that fell and has a hollow area under it. If you are going to hike Hazel Mountain than this is a nice side hike to take but I wouldn't hike it for the sole purpose of seeing the falls. It's just worth the effort when you consider the dozens of other falls in SNP.
