This was a beautiful trail to take with the Rhododendrons in bloom. The path was, for the most part, soft and grassy. As an added bonus, a ruffed grouse put on quite a display along Keyser Run Fire Road (I could hear the chicks in the underbrush). Except for the switchbacks up Hogback Mountain, the slopes were gentle. However, based on my topo map I would put the distance at six miles, rather than five.
