Black Mountain Trail is located on one of the Crab Orchard Mountains and offers a gradual climb to the top. Although heavily wooded for most of the trail distance, the trail will reward the hiker with some stunning views of the Tennessee Ridge and Valley, looking eastward toward Knoxville. The trail is also noted for spectacular spring wildflowers, and some great boulders and bluffs are near the top. For birders, this is a good area to view hawk migrations.
