We hiked north to south, getting the tough stuff out of the way first, which I would recommend. We completed the trail in 5 nights/6 days. While difficult and somewhat crowded in certain campsites, it was worth every second. We were up-close-and-personal with a whale (there were many others farther out), saw baby seals, wolverine, otter, fabulous tide pools, waterfalls and so so much more. Don't miss the cheeseburgers at Chez Monique’s, a welcome pleasure after days of hiking.
There are many obstacles along the hike including; stairs, ladders, roots, mud holes, slippery rock, and loose boards on some boardwalks. This can be very challenging if you have any kind of knee injury. Otherwise, My 14 year old nephew hiked without problems. Overall, this was one of the most memorable trips I've experienced.
