The trailhead is very easy to find (about 12 km north of the Whistler Village Way intersection you'll see the Provincial Parks sign for the right turn off the highway). It is a tough uphill slog (think Grouse Grind type of trail) to get above the forest. However, the payoff is great once you emerge from the trees. The wildflowers were in full bloom when we were there. Near the end there is one more steep uphill push to get over the ridge to the view of the lake. On a sunny day you can lay back on the rocks and take in the beautiful view.
We were not staying overnight, but there were quite a few overnight backpackers on the trail.
