This is an very easy hike, even with snow on the ground. The falls were half frozen when we went, so they were a mere trickle. Be sure to check out the bottom of falls via a split in the trail. The frozen bottom was extremly cool and would be impressive in the summer as well.
This is a very easy hike great for the beginner or intermediate hiker. It has a gradual upward slope. There is a stop along the way where you can enjoy the view of the gorge. Thunderbird Falls at the end of the trail has a roomy wooden deck area suitable for pictures with great views of the falls.
Bathroom facilities are conveniently located at the beginning of the trail near the parking lot.
The view is definitely worth the trip.
