Fantastic hike, great views, the upper lake was still frozen over and Archangel rd was closed to vehicle traffic adding and extra 4.6 miles round trip, none-the-less one of my favorite hikes.
Archangel Road was packed with cars-but trail wasn't so busy. Loved the hike. Managed to do it with a 3 and 7 year old, and out of shape dog, but well worth the effort. The 'boulder scramble' was a challenge, but the views and blueberries make it all woth it. :0) We made it up to Upper Reed Lake-decided against going further to the bomber ruins but will do that next time. A new favorite hike for my family.
