bear scat everywhere. It was like step and slide. I did this hike twice. The second time with just my son and I. We encountered a black bear up close and in person. Did not seem to be to interested in us maybe 50 feet away. Hike was not bad very accessible and easy trail. Goat rope spur which starts at the same point was overgrown. My daughters swam in china poot lake. nice day nice hike. If you are staying in one of the cabins wake up early and look for bears along the waters edge.
