Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission of Prince Georges County owns 7000 acres of land on the Patuxent River to preserve it and its valuable wetland and upland forest ecosystems. Jug Bay offers an incredible opportunity to observe more than 250 bird species, such as osprey and red-winged blackbirds. Some birds stay here year-round, while others migrate. Jug Bay has 8 miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails.
