Paulina Falls is a spectacular set of two 80-foot waterfalls that cascade over a vertical drop of basalt rock into a set of boulders below. The falls, and the creek itself, are named after a Northern Paiute Indian chief who was known for his
?erceness in battle and ability to evade enemy capture.
Located a short quarter-mile from the outlet of Paulina Lake, and also close to the visitor center, Paulina Falls tends to be a popular spot among tourists and recreationalists throughout the summer. The good news, however, is that this is really the only crowded spot on the stream that, as a whole, is exceptionally scenic.
