The Maston area is a prime example of how thought and planning can churn out an outstanding trail system. During 2012–13, the Prineville Bureau of Land Management built out the network to allow a variety of recreation users to peacefully coexist in one area. Primarily known as a hot spot for winter mountain biking, Maston also contains hiker-only trails, in addition to a great network of horse trails interspersed throughout its many acres.
