A truly amazing hike can be found just north of Corpus Christi at the Port Aransas Nature Preserve at Charlie’s Pasture. Once distressed farmland, the City of Port Aransas, nonprofit organizations, and volunteers worked to reclaim the salt marsh. The result is this fantastic 2.2-mile boardwalk hike through the salt marsh and salt and algal flats where roseate spoonbills, black-bellied whistling ducks, and reddish egrets greet you and you are treated to magnificent, beautiful, expansive views.
