An important stop for migrating birds and home to many other “permanent” residents, the Matagorda Bay Nature Trail is the perfect example of big corporations doing right by preserving this valuable habitat while at the same time providing recreational opportunities to the public. This trail is short, only 0.6 mile (one way), but the birder in you will love the 200-plus species that make themselves at home here.
