I know the kids will want to spend most of the day in Buccaneer State Park’s wave pool, but I’m pretty sure they will also love this short and easy romp along the Pirate’s Alley Nature Trail. The trail is lined with moss-covered oak trees and leads to a panoramic view of a marsh. And hey, it doesn’t hurt to tell them that pirate Jean Lafitte once called this area home as he smuggled treasure along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
