On this easy hike you will walk through two distinctly different time periods in American history. You start out at the Clarke House, the scene of the January 3, 1777, clash between American and British forces that came to be known as the Battle of Princeton. You then hike on the former rail bed of the “Fast Line” or trolley system that ran between Trenton and Princeton, as you make your way to the Institute for Advanced Study, which was established in 1930 to accommodate the likes of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the “father of the atomic bomb” and Albert Einstein, who lived in Princeton from 1933 until his death in 1955.
