The Elephant Trail runs along the south side of Lake Nockamixon, from the western end of the lake near Elephant Road to the eastern end at the dam. This hike runs from the western end of the lake to the park cabins, where you turn around and take a second section of the trail that runs parallel with the first section. At points along the way you will get an unobstructed view of the lake, with its colorful sailboats, fishing boats, kayaks, and canoes; and, if you’re in the right place at the right time of the year, you’ll also see migratory waterfowl and raptors that use Lake Nockamixon as a stopover.
